The highly anticipated sequel of Inside Out has finally released, and it does not disappoint. Both critically and financially this film is an absolute success.

Inside Out 2 does not in anyway disappoint. I would even go as far to say it may be better than the first. With such a compelling story, entertaining characters, and great animation, the movie is just great. It’s deeper message can keep older viewers very engaged while younger viewers can also enjoy the silliness of the movie. It’s core message about being yourself can connect to anyone, and therefore I think anyone can enjoy this movie. As someone who usually doesn’t enjoy kids movies, I have to say, I was engaged and entertained throughout the whole movie. The star studded voice acting cast also does such an amazing job including Amy Poehler, Maya Hawke, Lewis Black, Phyllis Smith, Ayo Edebiri and more.

Inside Out 2 is absolutely soaring at the box office. As of June 18th, 2024 the film has made $176M domestically and $334M worldwide which is just mind boggling considering the current state of the box office this summer. With so many flops and underperformes this summer so far, studios are sure to be scratching their heads as to why this movie is so successful. It made $295M worldwide on its opening weekend. That is the second highest opening weekend for an animated film ever! At this rate the film will easily exceed half a billion, and may even reach a billion if it continues to do well over the rest of the summer.
