Marvel’s new entry just dropped, and it’s great. Thunderbolts* shines, both as something new and different, and something that gives hope for a new MCU Era, one that feels more like phase 3.
Spoiler Free Review
Thunderbolts doesn’t follow the usual mcu formula, and it’s better for it. I won’t go into spoilerly details on how or why, but it truly is different. Along with being different it also helps push the greater MCU story forward and give me that same type of feeling as I got from earlier mcu movies. Beyond that, thunderbolts is just a good movie! It’s incredibly touching and it’s an heart wrencher. Florence Pugh is great, and I also loved Lewis Pullman. David Harbour also brought the humor in an otherwise very serious and somewhat dark movie. It’s a great experience and a touching story. One of the best marvel movies since endgame. This movie also feels like it ushers in a new era in the MCU. A definite turn for the MCU. The ride from here to doomsday and secret wars will surely be a great one.
Thunderbolts* is a new and very good step in the right direction for Marvel. It brings the heart, the action, and the excitement.
Box Office
Thunderbolts* opened with 76M domestic and 162 worldwide at the box office. A very respectable performance albeit slightly below predictions.
