Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse is Brilliant

Across the Spiderverse has taken the internet by storm. Everyone is raving about the movie. Many even claim it is the best comic book movie of all time!

Review (spoiler free)

Let's get the bad out of the way. Although there is not much, I do need to agknowledge the few issues. Firstly, the music often overpowers the dialogue making it hard to understand what is happening and what characters are saying. However, I am sure this can be easily fixed for digital release. My only other issue with the film is that it moves so fast, and there are so many bright and flashy colors, that I actually got a bit of a headache from watching the movie. It's visual overload. Which can be both a good and a bad thing.

Now, on to the good, and there is a lot of good so I'll try to keep it short. Its visually stunning and the animation is very impressive. They way that many different styles of animation are mixed together is amazing. The voice acting is also top notch. The movie balances humor, fan service, emotion, and everything else so well. Also, the way that the spider-verse is explained and explored in the movie is both mind blowing and brilliant. It also has multiple surprises that will make Marvel and Spider-Man fans very happy.

Across the Spiderverse has earned $51.75M in its opening day. This puts it at third for all time animated movies and brings its total so far to $69.1M. It is now estimated to earn between $113M-$150M in it's opening weekend! This movie is not only critically successful, it's also financially successful! With a budget of $100M it will probably break even on it's opening weekend! It may even surpass the Mario movie to become the new second highest grossing animated film!
